Costs are rising for our seniors with affordable options to stay in state, nearby family, getting more rare. This year Kara took on the many challenges our seniors face.

• Created a caregiver tax credit for CT residents caring for loved ones
• Required assisted living facilities to give sixty days notice before any fee increase.
• Required nursing homes to have ninety days of funds to cover operating costs, preventing surprise closings that leave our seniors high and dry.
• Required private equity owned companies to disclose ownership and financial information every year.
• Ensured families of residential care home residents can set up cameras to stay connected and monitor family care.
