Veterans

Our veterans have made tremendous sacrifices for our country. Kara wants to make sure they receive the proper accommodation and benefits they deserve. This year she worked toward that goal in fighting for:

• Making buses free for CT veterans by distributing bus passes to them.
• Improving their dental program by allowing thousands of veterans to be  eligible for up to $3,000 in costs covered.
• Waiving fees on veterans’ drivers’ licences and ID cards
• Recognizing out-of-state credentials for driving fire trucks, which will help those veterans who are already qualified find employment here.
• Improving veterans’ employment pipelines and including posts on veterans’ benefits and services.
• Securing more funding for maintenance of veterans’ cemeteries.
